What methi masala is

Methi masala, called methi no masalo or methiya masala in Gujarati homes, is a coarse spice mix built on split fenugreek seeds (methi dal). It is the backbone of Gujarati achar and is eaten on its own with flatbreads and rice.

100% vegan

Every ingredient in our jar comes from a plant: fenugreek, chilli, mustard, turmeric, hing, salt and mustard oil. No dairy, no ghee, no honey, nothing of animal origin.

Preservative-free

No artificial preservatives, colours, anti-caking agents or flavour enhancers. Salt and mustard oil keep it fresh, the way grandmothers have kept masala for generations.

Why fenugreek

Fenugreek seeds bring a gentle bitterness and a toasty, maple-like aroma. They also carry plant protein, part of why our masala has 11.5 g protein per 100 g.

Mustard oil, not refined oil

Mustard oil gives the masala its sharp, nose-tingling kick and has been the traditional pickling oil across India because it naturally helps keep spices fresh.

Small batches in Ahmedabad

Each batch is roasted, blended and jarred by hand in our family kitchen in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, so what reaches you is fresh rather than months old on a warehouse shelf.

Spicy Nani began at a shared kitchen table, where Ananyaa, Kahil, Aanya, Ishaan and Devansh turned everyday effort into warmth.

The family grinds, toasts and blends together, keeping Nani's methods while choosing cleaner labels, better sourcing and thoughtful packaging.
